(How to) replace RH-M1 Battery Assembly

  1. Remove power from the RhinoTab and place the unit on a flat, clean surface with the screen facing down.
  2. Remove the back-right panel by removing the eight screws indicated below. You will notice that there are two different-sized screws. Make sure the longer screws go back into their respective places when re-assembling the units. The yellow arrows indicate the location of the longer screws.
  3. Unplug both the battery and the speaker cables, shown in the picture below. If required, use a small flat-head screwdriver to gently pry the speaker connector from its receptacle. If you can't release the battery connector, use a small flat-head screwdriver to push the release tab up as shown in the pictures below.
  4. Install the new battery assembly. Connect the battery and speaker cables, then install the eight screws removed in Step 1. Please take precautions to ensure the battery and speaker cables are not pinched between the chassis and the battery assembly (They should run neatly between the channel created by the battery and the small aluminum box pictured above if present), Ensure the long screws indicated in Step 1 are installed in the correct places (WARNING: Screw placement is critical. The tablet will be severely damaged if longer screws are installed in the incorrect location)
