Dock - USB's not working
If the customer reports that their USB's on the dock not working or their device aka keyboard, printer, etc
Make sure they are running the latest Firmware (RTi Control version 5.8)
1. Check if the dock is getting power from the vehicle. You can check this by going into the "Vehicle Control" tab within the RTi Control.
2. If the dock is getting power, check if the "Texas Instrument USB 3.0 HCI Host Controller" is present Device Manager under "Universal Serial Bus Controller". One The Full-size docking station you should have "3" instances of this. On our Value Dock, you have only "1".
3. If the USB Controller is not present in Device Manager, have the customer try cleaning the gold pins on the dock and tablet with an eraser preferably or a slightly abrasive pad with alcohol.
4. If the USB Controller still isn't present, try running the USB drivers as an administrator. This is in a folder called "USB hub" under "Drivers" in the C Drive. If you run the drivers as an admin and you are prompted to uninstall the drivers because it already detects the USB controller, then stop and click cancel. It's most likely a hardware issue with the dock.
Note: Try increasing their "Dock Delay" to 18 seconds. This is under the "Dock" tab in the RTi Controller.
If you run the USB Controller as an administrator and the Texas Instrument Wizard pops up. Then that is a good sign. Click "Next" all the way through the wizard. It should ask you to do a reboot once it finishes. The devices should be working at this point. Have them monitor it and get back to us if they continue to have issues.
